TRANSLATE THE ODYSSEY?

what does this mean?

"a dark wooded island, amd there a goddess makes her home, a daughter of Atlas, wicked Titan who sounds the deep in all its depths, whose shoulders lift high the colossal pillars thrusting earth and sky apart. Atlas' daughter is who holds Odysseus captive, luckless man-despite his tears, fprever trying to spellbind his heart with suave, seductive words and wipe al thought of Ithaca from his mind. But he, straining for no more than a glimpse of hearth-smoking drifting up from his own land.

please help i realy dont understand this part. TRANSLATE THE ODYSSEY?
If I remember my 9th grade English Class well enough, I believe it's saying that on a dark wooded island a goddess makes her home and she is the daughter of Atlas. It's also saying that Atlas's daughter hold Odysseus captive by his fears and he is spellbound in his heart for Atlas's daughter (I cannot remember her name, I'm in 12th now so it's been a while) and then he clears his mind of Ithaca all the while hoping for a glimpse of home.TRANSLATE THE ODYSSEY?
Is this the part with the sirens?

Watch "Oh brother where art though" and go on sparknotes to help explain things.

Oh brother where art though is a parody (not really but I can't think of the right word) of the odyssey.
