What Books WILL be Made into Movies!?!?

I like reading books that were movies or books that will be movies or something along those lines. I really like when theres a series of books and one has been a movie and there doing more. So its like you can see all the characters really well in your head but its a fresh story.

But my Question is any really good books that i can read that plan to have a movie come out soon?

I have read Potter, dont want to read twilight. and im more into fantasy, science fiction, space, um historical fiction.

Great movie would be Pillars of Earth would be really hard to make and a lil boring but would be cool to see. What Books WILL be Made into Movies!?!?
An absolutely great book that is being made into a movie is called The Road. Its a drama thats kinda sci-fi, kinda historical fiction. Its about a father and his young son and their relationship while traveling through the former U.S. in a post-apocalyptic world trying to find a safe haven.

It's a great read, I highly recommend it. And the movie is supposed to be out this year in the fall sometime.

Dan Browns Angels and Demons is coming out soon.

If you liked The Da Vinci Code defo get it - its the best book in the series, tho there changing the format a bit for the movie so should be interesting to see how they do it.What Books WILL be Made into Movies!?!?
The Hobbit is being made into a movie. Two, actually. I think they'd have a hard time getting two out of The Hobbit, so they'll probably work parts of The Silmarillion in there as well. It's tentatively scheduled to come out in 2011 - so a couple years to wait. However, it's being done by the same FX people and director as the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The guy who played Gandalf has already confirmed he'll be in these movies as well. They better not mess up Smaug, is all I can say! I don't think I have too much to worry about tho, considering who's working on it...

Edit: I read The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and I agree with Steve - great read!
I read 'The Giver' when I was in 8th grade in 2004, that was the only book I enjoyed EVER in my 12 years of school. That should be a great film, it was really beautiful.
Well, a bunch of books will be made into movies and we don't know what ones are coming out at least not all of them. You should enjoy just reading and not be so worried about if they are coming out as a movie or not. You should use your imagination and think the way you want to think not the way the director thinks.
