To give an idea of my taste, I tend to like books that are whimsical, slightly dark, slightly funny, and have old-fashioned elements. Books other than "Let the Right One In" that I really like include "Jonathan Strange %26amp; Mr. Norrell", "The Monk" (by Matthew Lewis), "Watership Down", "The Pillars of the Earth", "My Name Is Red", the Dark Materials trilogy, and anything from the Narnia series. I guess the books I tend to read most are usually fantasy/pseudo-historical novels, but I'm open to other genres as well.
Other things that might be useful to know: I'm a 21 year-old girl, and I really don't like teen novels or anything unoriginal/predictable.
Of course it's difficult to recommend books to a stranger, but I'm sure I'll get some really good suggestions :)What book should I read next?
No vampires in my list:
Love in the Present Tense, Catherine Ryan Hyde
Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen
The Art of Racing in the Rain, Garth Stein
Moloka'i by Alan Brennert
Cleopatra's Daughter, Michelle Moran
Rainwater, by Sandra Brown
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
The Blood of Flowers, Anita Amirrezvani
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
Munch Mancini Series by Barbara Seranella (book 1 No Human Involved)
The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins (very original)
The Mystery of Grace by Charles de Lint (Grace finds love after death)
Eyre Affair (Thursday Next Novel) by Jasper Fforde - unique, funny, very entertaining.
I'd say the Briar King. Very creative fantasy. Otherwise for just good fun, "Confederacy of Dunces".What book should I read next?
Ooh! Read "World Without End." It's the sequel to "Pillars of Earth," and it is excellent.

I would recommend "The Darkness that Comes Before"
It's the very first book of a series by Scott Bakker.
