Twenty Thousand Leagues UndSpiritually speaking, are you a bibliophile?
Jesus Christ how did you type all that crap out?

And just recently I started to read a lot, and started to appreciate it a lot more thanks to my girlfriend. She reads a LOT. So I got a couple books I thought I'd be interested in, and I'm starting to really like it.

So far my favorites are:

1.) The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

2.) The Shining by Stephen King

3.) Diary by Chuck Palahniuk

4.) 7 Steps To Midnight by Richard Matheson (I really recommend this to anyone who likes thrillers and suspense novels)

And right now I'm trying to finish Rant and Haunted both by Chuck Palahniuk.
I've upwards of 150 books spanning several genres(I really don't want to list them all).

One of my favourite words, bibliophile.Spiritually speaking, are you a bibliophile?
I've read alot of those.

Crap, that actually surprised me.

Did you read Edgar Rice Burroughs, Dame Agatha Christie, Robert Louis Stevenson, that lady who writes about the siamese cat?

I've read a pile of Sci-fi that would make you sick.

all of Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey too

The entire collection of plays and poems by Bill Shakespeare as well. (That took quite a bit) and some early English epic poems by Chaucer (the Green Knight)
Good selection. I was just turned on to the Pendergast series by Preston %26amp; Child a few months ago.

Based on your list, try Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. They're satirical fantasy at it's best.Spiritually speaking, are you a bibliophile?
answer: Absolutely! I don't want electronics or anything, I always ask for books.
Um...yeah...I like reading too...and I kind of try to keep my bookcase organised too.

But this alphabetical list is really a little too anal for me.
Only people who are mentally retarded.
You have many wonderful books on your list. Add H.P. Lovecraft, you won't be disappointed!
Moderately

I read certain types of books a lot; others less.
Si, I am. :D My list of books hasn't changed from the last time you did a question like this, so I won't re-post it.
Wait, the Cat in the Hat counts?

I could've been using it all this time...
All my life.
wtf... O.o... i only read about like 4-5 books in my whole lifetime lol.
What?
wow that must have taken for ever to type!
Yes..well, i own some books of that list
I love books. I used to read every Star Wars novel available. Yet, the Star Wars novels kept coming in three book episodes, and got a little redundant.

I loved the book "Take Me Home" the Auto-biography of John Denver.

I loved the "Lord of the Rings" especially "The Hobbit" when Bilbo Baggins tricked Gulam (hopefully spelled right) out of the ring. Bilbo asked Galum, "what's in my pocket?"

I read lots and lots of religious magazines and books, especially the Bible.

As far as the classics, I haven't read many.
As I admit in my profile...

"History, theology, philosophy...

Books on on these, and Science Fiction and Fantasy can be found piled up everywhere in my house."

1,000-plus, easily.

And other topics too, including some bizarre titles that probably should not be placed in close proximity.

"The Social History of the Machine Gun"

"Wisconsin Death Trip"

"The Defence of Duffer's Drift"

"book of boring postcards"

"Scalded to death by the Steam" (trains wrecks and the songs they inspired)
owning books and loving books are two innately separate things. you could own only 1 book and be a bibliophile, while as your neighbor may have thousands and not know a darn thing about any of them, making him a collector but not an actual bibliophile. You must enjoy those books you have listed to be a bibliophile, not just say you have them. mrow?
I can tell you are!

I own hundreds and hundreds of books, many of which I really like, so I'm also a bibliophile!

It helps I suppose because I want to be a fiction writer.

=P
What'd you call me?

I could make a huge, long list of books... but I am too lazy for that.

So, here's some of my very favorites:

Fight Club, Haunted, Invisible Monsters, Choke, Survivor, Stranger Than Fiction, Diary and Lullaby all by Chuck Palahniuk.

I Am Legend, Button Button and Duel by Richard Matheson.

The Stand, It, The Shining, Skeleton Crew, Cujo, and tons of other Stephen King books.

Mysterious Skin by Scott Heim.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

Some of Vonnegut's stuff.

Lamb %26amp; The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove by Chris Moore.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

Lots of Jonathan Kellerman's stuff.

Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

Philosophy books.

I am currently reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewsky, and I already know it'll be a favorite of mine.

Etc, etc... Cassie is tired.
