I reccomend any book by Edgar Allan Poe. He's probably my favorite author/poet.Going on a road trip NEED GOOD BOOKS?
Don't read Twilight.
And I heard Eragon was bad...
I dunno about the Pillars of the Earth, though, never heard of it.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is a really really good one.

Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix
The Pillars of the Earth is a good book. And being that it is so long, it will last you the whole trip.
Eargon, Bible, Lord of the Rings, Catcher %26amp; the Rye.
I also am a real fantasy fanatic, so let's see.....
out of those three...
1. ERAGON - I LOVED THAT BOOK!!!!!!!!
2. Twilight??? - I read it and I didn't really like it, but it was OK....
I wouldn't buy it if i were you, but that's just me...
3. The Pillars of Earth - Well, I can't really say anything about that one, because I have never read it.
some other good fantasy books are....
Inkheart
Dragon Rider(from what I've read of it)
(both by Cornelia Funke)
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
Princess Academy ( I know it's not strictly fantasy, but it was a REALLY GOOD BOOK!!!!!)
hope this helps!

I have answered this question so many times, I decided to dedicate a web site to answer this question. Here it is:
http://www.life-after-harry-potter.com
Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a "Readers' Choice" list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books.
I hope this helps.
Jim
I haven't heard about the other two, but my older sister has read Eragon and loves it.
If you like fairytales witha twist try anything by Gregory Macguire (the author of Wicked). My favorite of his is Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister.
Aaand a really good fantasy series I like is the Dragonlance series by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman.
Have fun on your trip!
