Do you know if the buy-bull says with regard to the Earth:



- east is far from west

- see all the earth from the top of a mountain

- tent covers the earth

- joshua commanded the sun to stand still

- take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it

- earth set on immovable pillars

- earth has a solid sky dome

so far has he removed our transgressions from us.



So...the point being that once God has forgiven us, our sins are as far away from us as the east is from the west....which would be infinity. So, really nothing to do with the earth's geography, sorry.Are there any bible experts who aren't Atheist? I've a question for you? (Atheists welcomed too)?
I recognise that "east is from the west." It's a passage that says god will remove all your sins to that distance.



It's basically a poetic way of saying that god will put you on a train going east and your sins on a train going west and you will shoot off into opposite directions. And hopefully keep going on in space rather than meet at the other end of the world, although my translation has fallen flat since I think I just shot the poor sinner into space.



Anyway! If you go far enough north you'll be going south again, but you can't go so far east you're headed west. It's poetry meant to convey a huge vast distance, not a literal scientific statement.

-maybe there are mountains on the moon?

-haven't you seen the constellation "pitched tent"? It is larger then the earth

-the sun does stand still, relative to someone on the sun

-California is the edge of the US and it has earthquakes

I'm sure there are some non atheistic bible scholars, but you gotta wonder whether they should be free to walk the streets (knowing what they know and that they believe it)
