Will I be disappointed or feel let down after just reading one of the greatest novel's of all time.
And is their as much religious politics in World Without End as their was in the Pillars of the Earth. The Pillars of the Earth/ World Without End question?
The problem with "World Without End" is that it essentially repeats the scenarios of "Pillars of the Earth" but with different characters and in a later period. So, it's not as good. I still enjoyed it, but the first book is by far the better one.
Follett is a somewhat formulaic writer in all of the genres of his writing. "Pillars" was a real departure for him, but in writing the sequel, he lacked the imagination to create something truly new and different.
