Cool monks?

i just recently finished the book "the pillars of the earth". and it was a really good story, you know a writer is good when he can make monks seem cool.



whats your opinion on "the pillars of the earth"?Cool monks?
I have no opinion as to your suggestion other than ALL of us "MONKS" are cool.



Once, in Indonesia, while traveleing, I came upon a group outside a large, but modest temple. As I approached I noticed them laughing, even poking at each other AND barefooted they placed a foot up against the foot of a very large Buddha.



Once there, finding one who spoke English, I had to ask.



"We are finding humor in a serious way. NO one's FOOT is as large as our Gods"Cool monks?
