Bible says the heaven/sky have pillar:
"The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at his rebuke" [Job 26:11]
Quran says heaven/sky have no pillar:
"He(God) created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountain standing firm..." [Quran, 31:10]
Not only heaven, Bible says even the earth have pillar. Read 1 samuel 2:8, Psalm 75:3, Job 9:6
"He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble" [Job 9:6]
***The Quran or The Bible, which one is correct? The Qur'an or the Bible, which one is correct?
Your question says that the Qur'an but if you are a Muslim you should understand that we Muslims have to believe that the Bible is Also Gods word, but at the same time we have to believe that the Bible is tampered by Humans to benefit their own needs, kind of like when christians pick and choose what bible verse to follow
btw to the last answer who said that the bible established that the earth is spherical YES the bible did
BUT THE EARTH ISNT SPHERICAL, MODERN SCIENCE says that the EARTH IS EGG SHAPED
WHICH THE QUR'AN describes ( i dont know the exact verse )
the earth isnt completely spherical but more egg shaped
The Bible does *not* say that the "sky" has pillars. It says - very plainly - that the **heavens** have pillars. It would be *extremely* surprising to discover that this is not true.
You ALSO misrepresent Qur'an (intentionally, I presume) - claiming it states that "heaven/sky have no pillar" when, according to **your own quote**, it states that the heavens have no pillars **that you can see**!
As anyone even marginally familiar with geology or archaeology knows, the Earth has pillars - lots and lots and lots of pillars.
Clearly, the Bible is *at least* as correct as Qur'an regarding this particular subject.
Jim, http://www.bible-reviews.com/The Qur'an or the Bible, which one is correct?
The Quran is the word of God. An ancient bible was found buried in Israel after years, and according to the texts it was very similar to the Quran and in no way similar to the New Testament: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ7ELK8ZfUY
The Bible USED to be the word of God, but not anymore. Islam is love and the path to God.
Did you learn physics at school? It clearly says "whatever does not fall is being held". So, from the point of view of the modern science the bible must be right. The Qur'an or the Bible, which one is correct?
Dr. Seuss is actually more correct. There are no pillars, just 1 fish, 2 fish, red fish, and green eggs and ham, amen.
I personally believe the Bible is correct, but you will have to decide for yourself.
i choose the bible.
Something for you to consider: Do pillars have emotions? Because verse 11 says they do. So wait, if pillars don't have emotions, and I'm pretty sure that the writer(s) of Job realized that inanimate objects don't, then maybe, just maybe, it was figurative language? Chapter 26 seems to be full of it.
Same with 1 Samuel 2:8. The whole verse is full of figurative language ("raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap"). Do you think the author literally means that God raises the poor out of dirt, and the needy out of ashes? Of course not.
And let's look at Psalm 75. A few verses down from the one you quote, it says, "In the hand of the LORD is a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices; he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth drink it down to its very dregs." So does that literally mean that God has a cup that He pours out, which people drink from?
How about Job 9? Job 9 is also full of metaphorical language. Not one of the things in that chapter have actually been recorded as having happened. And is the author saying that they have? No. He's saying that's what God is capable of.
You know how you Muslims hate when people take a verse out of the Qur'an out of context, and apply a completely different meaning to it than you do? Like the one about the sun setting in a muddy spring, for example? Maybe you should think about that before you do the same to the Bible. Just a thought.
So, to answer your question, misinterpreting the Bible doesn't make the Qur'an correct, just as misinterpreting the Qur'an doesn't make the Bible correct. Even if you prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Christianity is wrong, it does not make Islam correct by default.
And BTW, by the time the Qur'an was written, it was well-established that the Earth was spherical, and the Bible also said that the Earth hangs "upon nothing." So even if the Qur'an was full of verses which state that the Earth is round and hangs on nothing, it proves nothing, because all of that was already established before it was written.
The Quackran, the Book of Mor(m)on, the Catholic "Bible" and any other source that is not KJV Authorized is disposable.
of course quran i want to tell you, but my english is crap, i do not even understand what you wrote
Neither, you silly person, you.
Neither. They were both written by primitive people who were even dumber than we are now.
