Bible says the earth is flat:



"He sits enthroned about the CIRCLE of the earth..." [Isaiah 40:22]



The Bible says the earth is a circle (note: a 2-D shape) which hangs (does not move). Lol what does that tell us?



Circles are flat. Circles is not a ball or sphere or an egg-sharped object. A circle is a flat round surface, similar to flat rectangular, or square, or triangular surfaces. So if the Bible claims that the earth is a circle then this is still bogus because the earth is obviously not a flat surface. The Most point isaiah 40:22 DOES NOT speak of the spherical earth. So Isaiah 40:22 claiming the earth is flat circle!



"The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all earth" [Daniel, 4:11]



If the earth were flat then a sufficiently tall tree could be seen from anywhere of Earth.



The earth have pillars?!



"He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble" [Job 9:6]



"Again, The Devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdom of the world.." [Matthew 4:8]



"The Devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of world" [Luke 4:5]



Now, even if you go to the tallest mountain, the highest mountain in the world(Mount Everest). Now supposingly, you have very good vision, and can see for thousands of miles together. Yet, you will not be able to see all the kingdoms of the world - Because our world is spherical. You will not be able to see kingdom, of the opposite side of the world. THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE, IF THE EARTH WAS FLAT! So, this "Holy" Bible clearly says the Earth is flat!



The flat Earth is established and can never move?!



"He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved" [Psalm 104:5]



"...The world(i.e Earth) is firmly established; it can not be moved" [Psalm 93:1]

Earth have no end because our earth is not flat.

Its obviouly false and unscientific because the Earth have no corner.

No, I don't believe the earth is flat, anymore than I believe you know a damn thing about the Bible. You did a copy and paste job from an antibiblical website, and other answerers have already sufficiently refuted your twisted use of scripture; what I'm going to do is hammer home the fact that scripture states the world is SPHERICAL, without using that word!



This can be explained to a fifth grader using several different Bible translations:



English Standard Version (ESV): Job 26:10 He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.



Good News Bible (GNB): Job 26:10 He divided light from darkness by a circle drawn on the face of the sea.



Literal Translation (LITV): Job 26:10 He has described a circle on the surface of the waters to the boundary of light with darkness.



Modern King James (MKJV): Job 26:10 He has described a circle on the surface of the waters to the boundary of light with darkness.



New American Standard (NAS1977): Job 26:10 "He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters, At the boundary of light and darkness.



New Revised Standard Version (NRSV): Job 26:10 He has described a circle on the face of the waters, at the boundary between light and darkness.



This Biblical truth can be shown to be scientific fact using a child, a flashlight, a softball, and a darkened room. Go into the room, shine the flashlight onto the ball and it doesn't even matter if you spin it or not. Ask the child what geometric shape is described by the boundary line between the light and darkness on the softball. Ask the child if it is possible to spin the ball or move the flashlight so that the SHADOW, or "boundary of light and darkness" is NOT a circle.



Guess what? The shadow STAYS a circle, and the Hebrew word used in this scripture is "chug", the SAME word used in Isaiah 40:22, only here it is combined with a Hebrew preposition. Now can you REPLACE the ball with any OTHER geometric shape and still have this little experiment work? Answer: No, and a fifth grader can see this. The Bible describes a spherical earth without using the word sphere.



This Biblical truth can probably be best viewed from the moon, and most folks can readily admit that since the earth is 2/3 water, MOST of this "line" is on the "surface of the waters," or oceans.



None of the anti-bible websites such as skepticsannotatedbible.com refute this scripture.



Bible writers could only have known this from the Inspiration from the Holy Spirit, and the book of Job PREDATES Egyptian and Greek civilizations.

If you examine this information carefully you will see that the Bible does not say that the Earth is flat. People who claim that do not understand the translation of original-language words into other languages like English. Or the just want some excuse to discredit the Bible so they don't have to believe in it.



The Bible’s Harmony With Scientific Facts. The Bible, at Job 26:7, speaks of God as “hanging the earth upon nothing.” Science says that the earth remains in its orbit in space primarily because of the interaction of gravity and centrifugal force. These forces, of course, are invisible. Therefore the earth, like other heavenly bodies, is suspended in space as if hanging on nothing. Speaking from Jehovah’s viewpoint, the prophet Isaiah wrote under inspiration: “There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth, the dwellers in which are as grasshoppers.” (Isa 40:22) The Bible says: “He [God] has described a circle upon the face of the waters.” (Job 26:10) The waters are limited by his decree to their proper place. Bible writers often speak from the standpoint of the observer on the earth, or from his particular position geographically, as we often naturally do today. For example, the Bible mentions “the sunrising.” (Nu 2:3; 34:15) Some have seized upon this as an opportunity to discredit the Bible as scientifically inaccurate, claiming that the Hebrews viewed earth as the center of things, with the sun revolving around it. But the Bible writers nowhere expressed such a belief. These same critics overlook the fact that they themselves use the identical expression and that it is in all of their almanacs. It is common to hear someone say, ‘it is sunrise,’ or ‘the sun has set,’ or ‘the sun traveled across the sky.’ The Bible also speaks of “the extremity of the earth” (Ps 46:9), “the ends of the earth” (Ps 22:27), “the four extremities of the earth” (Isa 11:12), “the four corners of the earth,” and “the four winds of the earth” (Re 7:1). The Hebrew word Chugh can also be translated sphere. Other translations use "globe" and "round".

So your idea prove wrong for that scripture.



Dan 4:11 is a dream and is not taken literally. Dan 4:20-22 explains the dream as meaning Nebuchadnezzar would have "power" that would affect the whole earth. So your reasoning is flawed on this scripture as well.



Job 9:6 well you should do some cross referencing. Psalms 75:3 explains what the pillars mean. So once again you failed to reason correctly.



Psalms 104:5 means the earth will not be destroyed. Eccl 1:4 makes that clear. And as for Ps 93:1, "it can not be made to totter" is a better translation.



Job 38:13 shows you are using a bad translation. A better translation is, "extremities of the earth".



Isaiah 11:12, "extremities of the earth" and Revelation 7:1 is figurative. Four denote that which is fully rounded out or near completion. Compare Eze 1:15-17; Lu 13:29.
