I'm looking for an interesting, very thick/long book to read. Any advice?

I want to read something that is interesting and very thick. I want to challenge myself to have the book read by a certain 'deadline'.

Can anyone recommend such a book? I'd prefer if it isn't one that deals with magic, witchcraft, sexual stuff, etc. For example... I once read Pillars of the Earth. The story-line was fantastic, but the very graphically described sexual parts in it did bother me a lot.

So .. any advice?I'm looking for an interesting, very thick/long book to read. Any advice?
war and peace -- its really long
Dangerous Days (440 pages) and Blades (380 pages), both by J. William Turner. Also, both adventure novels are made up of a series of four related full length stories. No explicit sex scenes, magic or witchcraftI'm looking for an interesting, very thick/long book to read. Any advice?
