Biographies:
-- Join Me by Danny Wallace - About how he accidentally started a cult and what he decides to do with it and how it changes his life.
-- Yes Man by Danny Wallace - He decides to go a year (I think it's a year) only answer questions/ requests with yes.
-- Friends like These by Danny Wallace - He decides to go out and track down his elementary school friends. (This is my favourite because they all do such different things and he mentions an amazingly bad spy (but this one hasn't been released in the USA/Canada so if you want it you'll have to get it shipped over (at least I don't believe it's out yet)))
A year of Living Biblically by A. J. Jacobs - He decides to go a year fallowing all the rules from the bible(s), from the 10 commandment to small rules like 'don't wear mix fabrics.'
Know it All by A. J. Jacobs - He decides to read the Encyclopedia Britannica from A to Z.
If biographies aren't to your taste there is:
- Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden: Story of a girl who I raised to be a Geisha (fictional story but in a realistic way)
- Hero by Perry Moore: About a boy who wants to become a superhero, but his father hates superheros because of his past. (Gay romance- thought i should warn you encase your anti-gay)
Yeah ... thats the only books that I have that might fall into what you asked for, though I do recommencement Agatha Christie murderer mysteries because they and Harry Potter take up most my book shelf...What are some good books to read. Any suggestionsappreciatedd?
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. It was a good book - I didn't really like all the religion stuff, but its easy to skip all that. You just won't want to stop reading it, the mystery and suspense are great!
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It's always good to read a little classics here and there [I plan on reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Dumas next!] This is the best love story ever written in my opinion. The characters and plot are extremely captivating. I've just finished Sense and Sensibility which was also good.
I've been looking at the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. It is a series [14 books or something crazy like that!] about a bounty hunter and they are supposed to be pretty humorous.
I recomment the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. The HBO show True Blood is based on the first book, but in my opinion the show does not do the novels justice. There are currently 8 books out, so if you like the first one, the rest should keep you busy for a while. "_What are some good books to read. Any suggestionsappreciatedd?
Naturally, I would suggest Twilight, but that's just me. Some other books along those lines are the House of Night series and the Vampire Kisses series. Other books.....I reccomend anything by Neil Peart. It's all very lifelike the way he wries. I also like the book Ghostgirl by Tonya Hurley; it's very high school-ish, but very cute.
Eragon-Extremely great book. It's a series so it'll keep you hooked and it's one of my favorite books. They literally murdered the book in the movie though-dont see the movie }=(
Read the book =)
Anya Seton and Diana Gabaldon are some good authors. If you are interested in history/biography, books by Walter Issacson and David McCullough are good.
Sara Donati's Into the Wilderness series is very interesting.
