Is it connected to land underneath? Then how, a large pillar of earth emanated from the bottom of the sea just to hold up that little island?Is Iceland Floating????????
No, Iceland isn't floating and there is more than a pillar holding it up. There is solid rock/land under the whole island, like under other countries.
Imagine Iceland as a large mountain (a volcano actually), with the bottom of the mountain being on the ocean floor and with the top of it sticking out of the sea, forming the land above sea level. That's actually what Iceland and other islands are like. It's just that you only see the top of the mountain because that's the only part that sticks out of the water.
And despite the name, Iceland is not made of ice. It's land like other islands, with some glaciers covering a part of the land. It is not a floating iceberg.
Iceland is a solid piece of land with some ice caps over top.
Iceland is a European island country located in the North Atlantic Ocean on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. It has a population of about 320,000 and a total area of 103,000 km2 (39,769 sq mi).
Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The interior mainly consists of a plateau characterised by sand fields, mountains and glaciers, while many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle.
Coordinates = 64°08′N 21°56′W
Iceland is the world's 18th largest island, and Europe's second largest island following Great Britain.
Lakes and glaciers cover 14.3%; only 23% is vegetated. The largest lakes are Tórisvatn (Reservoir): 83–88 km2 (32.0–34.0 sq mi) and Tingvallavatn: 82 km2 (31.7 sq mi); other important lakes include L?gurinn and Myvatn. ?skjuvatn is the deepest lake, at 217 m (712 ft).

All islands are actually the top of sea mountains extending above the ocean. The difference between the continents and islands is one of size.
if you think about it, all the continents are islands. if it was floating it would drift around, which its not doing.Is Iceland Floating????????
Iceland isn't made of ice.....
