Historical romance novels including forced marriage and forbidden love?

As you can see, I would like to read a historical romance novel. Im 16 and love historical movies/series. I've seen Pillars of the earth and Tess of d'Urbervilles and I liked the "I have to marry a guy I don't like to save my family or myself, but I love someone else" thing.

So you know any books that a 16 year old could read, that is like those series? I don't mind sex AT ALL, and I love romance!

I would prefer if it had a happy ending somehow cause I hate sad endings. So when everything seems to fall apart they somehow find a solution :D

I just want it to have the "Pillars of the earth or Tess of the d'Urbervilles" theme, not the actual books "Pillars .... or Tess of..."

Please suggest! :DHistorical romance novels including forced marriage and forbidden love?
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy (my favourite ever book %26lt;3 )

Brief summary: 'Anna Karenina' tells of the doomed love affair between the sensuous and rebellious Anna and the dashing officer, Count Vronsky. Tragedy unfolds as Anna rejects her passionless marriage and must endure the hypocrisies of society. Set against a vast and richly textured canvas of nineteenth-century Russia, the novel's seven major characters create a dynamic imbalance, playing out the contrasts of city and country life and all the variations on love and family happiness.

Edit: @Becca: Wow, I love Resurrection too! Never met anyone else who's read it!
You should try Hannah Howell, Julia Garwood, Mary Balogh, and Lisa Kleypas.Historical romance novels including forced marriage and forbidden love?

and jean plaidy does a similair genre, but her style is a little dryer

also, kate pennington is good for shorter stories for 14 year olds and up.

of course, there are the absolute classics like pride and prejudice etc. a lot of jane austens stories are exactly what you described. romances with happy endings and forced marriage, although pride and prejudice is more sort of a reluctant love story. the bronte sisters as well, jane eyre is a good book actually. geeze, i read far to many historical novels when i was fifteen. -.-'

OH! i just remembered a brilliant one! the tea rose and the winter rose, both by jennifer donnelly, are good romances about struggling love and also a bit of mystery and drama... set in voctorian england and all that lovely stuff. i read these in like, two weeks.

anywho, hope this helps. happy reading. :D
