Was the bible written by someone clever?

In the bible it says PI=3, bats are birds, and the mustard seed is the smallest of seeds, and insects have 4 legs, and the sky is solid, the moon is a light, and snakes eat dust, and hares/coneys chew the cud, the earth sits on pillars, the earth does not move, and whales can swallow humans alive, da da dah blah bla blah blahdee blah . . . .

Or were they just really quite stupid and primitive? Was the bible written by someone clever?
You will never, ever find a Bible that has not been edited. Because nobody can agree on which one is right. You have to remember, the Bible is not one book, it's a collection of many, and none of them were ever written with the idea that they were going to be combined with a bunch of other books. That's why even from one book to another, and sometimes even within the same book, you'll see two conflicting accounts of the same story.

For example, in the Book of Genesis, there are two accounts of Creation; one begins in Chapter 1, verse 1, and the other begins in Chapter 2, verse 4. There are literally thousands of instances of errors and inaccuracies in the Bible.

Which one, you ask, is the Word of God?? None of them. If there truly is the Word of God in the Bible, it has been so obscured, deleted or omitted as to be unrecognizeable. If you insist on finding a literal, iron-clad Bible that is the pure, unadulterated Word of God, you may as well give up now. Ain't gonna happen.
It is easy to say. It is much more difficult to prove. That requires actual research on your part. And, your interpretations of what you read may be wrong.

It seems odd that you should list so many things that the Bible does not say as if it actually said them. The Bible does not say that pi = 3, for instance. It states that it is around 3 (which it is). The mustard seed was the smallest seed typically planted at the time the story was told. The list goes on and on. Some of those things defy location in the Bible as to where you got such nonsense.

Yes, there are websites that tell you the Bible says these things (and usually leave out citations just like you did). If you believe everything on the internet, you have severe issues.

Nowhere in the Bible that I can find does it ever mention a whale swallowing a human.

And, nowhere in the world or the Bible can I find anyone logical who truly believes that miracles should or do conform to natural laws. In fact, miracles (by definition) defy those laws.
Yes, in the sense that Galileo Galiliei was quite stupid and primitive for thinking that the ocean tides were caused by the rotation of the earth around the sun.

Or, to put it in other words, no. The quite stupid and primitive people are the ones who think that the bible is to be read as a modern scientific textbook, and that it can't have any value if it can't reliably be read in that way. Curiously enough, this view of the bible seems to be much more popular with atheists than with Christians. Was the bible written by someone clever?
Although I do not recognize all your references, perhaps looking at the larger picture can help shed some light on the subject. Most scholars are in agreement that the bible was written by several authors inspired by God to write accounts of events and history. Since it was written by humans, several scientific inaccuracies are to be expected because they wrote with limited knowledge. Its not unlike writing a story today proclaiming that space is infinite, only to be proven wrong 1000 years from now with a discovery of something beyond space. The important thing to remember though is that christians believe the bible is infallible in its message, meaning that the message of biblical stories are the perfect word of God, revealing God's true nature to mankind.

The reader must take into account the conditions of their time and culture (the human authors), the literary genres in use at that time, and the modes of feeling, speaking, and narrating. For the fact is that truth is differently presented and expressed in the various types of historical writing, in prophetical and poetical texts, and in other forms of literary expression.
Written by many people that were some of the most advanced thinkers of their day and age - it does not mean that what they wrote is the ultimate truth however.
About as clever as say Tolkien
at the time it was written, they were probably considered clever.
Yes, by many Jews over different eras.
The Bible was written by someone who had a overdose of Hanes
