Start out young as described in the book? Jack for example was very young (around 11 if I remember correctly) yet in the show, he's the same age pretty much the whole time, why?In "The Pillars of the Earth" mini-series on STARZ, why don't some of the characters...?
maybe as a time issues- they didn't want to show them young. It could also be to appeal to an oder audience.
