'The Pillars Of The Earth' by Ken Follett, is there a movie?

Does anyone know if there has been a movie made of this novel? It's fantastic! I'd love to see a movie of it if there is one! Can't put this book down!!!'The Pillars Of The Earth' by Ken Follett, is there a movie?
Unfortunately no.

But the new KF book "World without end" will be the sequel of 'The Pillars Of The Earth' .

I don't think there is yet, but you can check at www.imdb.com.

Every film ever made is listed there.'The Pillars Of The Earth' by Ken Follett, is there a movie?
Oh Lordy, Pillars of the Earth! And just about everything else Mr. Follett wrote, such as "Eye of the Needle", "Night over Water", "The Third Twin", "Code to Zero", etc. They won't make movies out of these books. It's too hard to make a movie as real as the book. When you are reading, your imagination does the work the film people have to spend big bucks on. There is no way I can think of that "The Pillars of the Earth" would ever be made into a movie. First off, it would be seven hours long! You can't leave out the stuff that makes a good book when you make a movie. They would have to chop the text like mad. And to better explain my point, I almost was in tears when the "Smith" (Tom) lost the top of his head to the butthole, William. (Well, his horse. Same thing.) I almost threw a cheer at the end when "litlle willie" (No caps on purpose) was hung.

Very good book. I read it about once a year just because it is so intense. Tom, poor Agnes, the other butthole Alfred, Jack, Martha, (Richard is there, but a bit player as far as I'm concerned.) it's good. Very good. But it will, like many other good books, never be a movie.

Now if you like a good movie, and many people have said it sucks, try "Waterworld". Kevin Costner is the star. (He would have made a poor Tom!) It's very long, but has lots of detail. Nice movie, but it is too long for some people who have no attention span. (Unlike people who can actually sit and read!)

A good day to you, nice to speak with a reader! Take care and Ciao!
