Has anyone read the pillars of the earth by ken follet what did you think of the book?

just about 3 quarters of the way through the book and im not sure about all that cathedral stuff and explaining how to build them, what did you think to the book.Has anyone read the pillars of the earth by ken follet what did you think of the book?
It is an extremely well written and researched book. I highly recommend it to those interested in that time period. It discusses not only the fight over the British throne, but the conflict between church and state as well. It presents a very realistic view of life at that time.

Moreover, since you have read 3/4 of the book you know what a despicable character William is so you must continue the book to find out what happens to him and the other characters. Don't skip to the last chapter, you will miss too much of the story.

The sequel, World Without End, is set 200 years later and revolves around descendents of the characters in Pillars.Has anyone read the pillars of the earth by ken follet what did you think of the book?
I tried to start reading it, and tried for one chapter and just could NOT get into it!
